Title: Re: Puncture,No locking nut Post by Tompion on Feb 6th, 2008, 1:53pm The star drives are fake just the security bolt holds it on, I believe PS you should reduce your picture to less than 640X480 See here: http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=news;action=display;num=1124086806 |

Title: Re: Puncture,No locking nut Post by Tompion on Feb 6th, 2008, 2:18pm I assume you can get them at Ford – a T-bar I think with 3 pins at the end. If you’re desperate you could drill the head off (it only holds the cap on the wheel nuts are behind). I made one for mine, used some blue tac in the holes to copy the layout & drilled 3 hole in a bit of hexagon bar and fitted 3 pins in the holes. |

Title: Re: Puncture,No locking nut Post by jonnycab on Feb 8th, 2008, 2:04am If anyone is interested, those little three pin hub cover keys for removing the locking nuts aren't all the same. Until recenetly mine only had two pins & an empty hole (one obviously had fallen out).... when at the breakers yard recently searching for parts, I found a three pin one on a Scorp floor....."ah just what I needed" I thought.....& stuck it my pocket ::) When I went to take the hub covers off, it didnt fit ???....I compared the two keys & they had different numbers on the bottom & the pins were spaced differently ::)....."oh b****r" I thought ::) What did I do ?....I pulled one of the pins out of the hub key that didn't fit & pushed it into the missing pin hole on my hub key....."et voila !"...... I now have a proper three pin hub cover key 8) |
