has anyone used molyslip in their auto box was thinking of using it in mine any advice anyone

I Wouldn't but then I am completely against additives of any sort.. If the stuff was really that good I am sure after the £Millions that the oil compnies spend/spent on research into oil technology they would be adding it to the oil anyway.

These are of course my personal thoughts . You have to mke your own mind up.

when i had my 'box serviced about 4 years ago, i had this stuff put in.

don't know if it makes any difference, but this was at an autobox repair center.

I'm with the other guys on this. If the box is on it's way out then you've got nothing to lose but if it's ok and you're just giving it a service then I'd steer well clear. The fluid breaks down with age but that's all, even newer 'sealed' boxes which use mega expensive anti oxidising fluid don't last forever, at least with these older ones you can get at it to change without having to spend £250 at the dealer.

Fresh fluid and check the filter/magnets are clear, I drop the sump and change the fluid every time I do the engine oil, cheaper insurance than a rebuild :)

out of curiosity bout how much would a box rebuild cost just in case

Last estimate I saw for an autobox rebuild was £1000/1200 depending on what needed replacing BUT it can be cheaper than that . don't forget IF you have the box reconditioned then you need to replace the torque converter as well .

Dont put molyslip in an auto box as its only for manual boxes and the diff, unless they make one just for auto boxes now.
