Title: Re: 2,3 auto box update Post by Octavian_P on Mar 20th, 2008, 6:55am Have you tried to clean the MAF ? It's good functioning is crucial to the box. Here's the info: http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/cleanmaf.htm |

Title: Re: 2,3 auto box update Post by martin_rowe on Mar 20th, 2008, 8:40am yes can cause problems, as can wiring, air flow, bad connections. just that you mention its seems speed related. vss arent that expensive. |

Title: Re: 2,3 auto box update Post by TiberiuS on Mar 20th, 2008, 10:11am Are you sure the fluid level hasn't dropped maybe as air has been expelled from the system? You can unplug the MAF and the engine will run on default values. What were the problems with the gearbox in the first place (before you changed the fluid)? |

Title: Re: 2,3 auto box update Post by stevie on Mar 20th, 2008, 4:49pm the problems were slipping and generally odd behavior only when it was hot when it was cold all was fine |

Title: Re: 2,3 auto box update Post by martin_rowe on Mar 20th, 2008, 5:09pm slipping is a whole other ball game, check band adjustment, though when start slipping usually ready for recon. |

Title: Re: 2,3 auto box update Post by stevie on Mar 20th, 2008, 7:18pm its stopped slipping now i had the fluid changed dont know if it was slipping just felt as if it had no power but now all is ok apart from the problem i posted when the fuid waas changed the guy who did it said there was no debris in the sump or stuck to the magnetic sump thingy no black bits or anything under hard acceleration the box is beautiful overdrive kick down everything good just as i slow down to a stop it sometimes does it one thing i have just noticed tonight is the gear lever wont go into 1st its as if something is stopping it all other positions are ok |
