Hi guys,

Changed the oil about a week ago and this morning I started the car and a strong rattle could have been heard from the engine also the oil light was always on. I drove the car a little hoping the light will go of and engine will start running okay again but it never did. A few weeks ago the oil light flickered and decided to change the oil. Right after the change the engine would run fairly well, the light was off. Now it's always ON. Also what I have noticed is that the oil level is very high above normal. I don't know if they've put that much oil or gas has leaked in.

A little advice before I take it to ford and spend alot of money on repairs?

Who changed the oil,did they change the filter,which engine is it,was it running evenly before it was touched,does the lubricant smell of petrol,is it thin and weak,have you done an oil pressure check by screwing a gauge into the pressure switch orifice? No rattle is to be ignored,especially if there is no oil pressure.

I changed the oil at auto5 in belgium. the engine wasn't really great before the oil change, but it got really worse now all of the sudden ... I don't know what could have cause the sudden oil pressure loss as the pressure was fine right after the oil change.

the oil smells a little bit like petrol, yes

the oil filter has also been changed

it's a 2.0i DOHC engine.

the sound I could describe it like a tractor's and it's running evenly. does not interrupt or anything, it's just the sound is horrible and the oil lamp is on all the time

is the the 16V or the 8V engine?

If the oil has become foul through neglect of maintenance,as is unfortunately only too prevalant,the lubrication system may have become unable to do it's job owing to the sump being filled with slush.This is not necessarily connected to any fuel contamination that may be present,is there any possibility of head gasket failure,eg water in the oil,is the oil grey or creamy?Do get an oil pressure and cylinder compression check,these are not technical operations,and a half decent multi purpose gauge would cost you much less than a trip to Henry,you would then have a useful tool for future use !

There's no wather in the oil, should I just change the oil and see what happenes?

Do an oil pressure check first,do you have a good little local man who wont rob you?If so he's your best bet for good advice.

I don't have any guys like this ... I am in belgium, but I live in the CZ.

Now ... I went downstairs to connect the car to my obd2 and after a while it just stopped working, can't even start it anymore, and heard this squeeling noise before ... it's dead!!

I'm dead too ... I loved the car, now I don't have any.

Afraid it rather sounds as if the engine is siezed, more than likely to have a blown head gasket.... :'( Maybe time for a replacement engine/car?
But it will need to be checked further....

As pete says it sounds terminal,there are plenty of those engines over here at the right price,but how would you economically get it over there?As you may know that engine was fitted in the RS 2000.Headscratching time!

I was in one of our local scrapyards recently,there is a 2 litre 16v Scorpio in,I saw it driven in but did not pay much attention at the time.If you are in the position to give them a ring you need to talk to Dave or Mark.The yard is called Spriggs,the number is(UK)01733 891923,mention GOZZ they know me well.I would think they would ask £150.If you need any further assistance re collection let me know,the delivery bit would be down to you.

Hi,

I called the guy and said he has one for 150pounds, but the question is really hot to get it to brussels ... that's my main problem now. I am open to suggestionsm thanks.

It is located in Oxney Road,Peterborough about 50 metres or so past the Ford main dealer on the same side heading east.
