Check the wiring loom in the boot near the hinge - known issue with wires breaking due to opening / closing boot and wires flexing. Watch out for shorting / blown fuses due to this also .

Had the same problem with my scorp, there is a switch on the lock mechanism in the bootlid and it had uncliped itself from the lock. just clip back.

Yes, sounds like the switch is broken.

Hm, sounds like the switch is okay then. One of the wires are meant to be earthed.

is ther a relay that oprate this is it seems the problem is not the wiring as the light on the dash goes out when i earth out the 1 wire (red&black) it will work perfect with the switch light come on when boot is open and goes of when closed but the wire is also a live wire when the boot is closed i think is that posible on my tester its shows a live on the same wire when the boot is open and when closed it a earth

Here is the diagram of the tailgate switch

If I read it correctly, two of the wires should be permanently live and the third is earth/ground.

According to Kjetil Ss diagram both live circuits are grounded down by the switch alternately,ie when the boot is open the boot light circuit is completed, and when the boot is shut the circuit switching OFF the warning light is completed. If by grounding the red and black wire the warning light goes off,the fault must be in the switch.
