hi there guys just thought i,d let you all know that the auto box on my 2.3 has been wonderful over the last few days no slipping no odd things happening it is spot on back to normal ( can that actually happen problems then for them to just disappear) i think there must be a loose connection in the selector housing that was making it behave badly i still aint checked the WOT sensor will do it at the weekend when the snow has gone any way something has happened to make the problems just simply go away VERY STRANGE

I think i got you gremlins :) My box started thumping hard in any gear....over the night. The day before i did a 200 km trip and it behave wonderfully :P

how strange are these gremlins , one time they behave wonderfully the next they are crazy beasts mine is behaving its self at this time maybe because the weather is cold ,when the weather gets hot could be a different story .. so whats wrong with yours .. if i have any more problems i think i may visiting ford for a replacement box , but time will tell :'(

hi chaps, yeah my cossie does that funny gear box stuff aswell,but on cold mornings,but on damp misty mornings runs perfect,so i think it could be to do with air temperature and dampness,this last week or so its been a little frosty but dry in the air,these gremlins come and go,i think its all down to the condition of the air entering the air filter,air flow,air temperature,maf,well thats my theory ;D ;D ;D

well you could be right the maf controls that stuff cleaned mine but think it may be beyond cleaning thinking of a new one my box changes beautifully in the cold it has been brill this week all week even when its got hot happy for now ;D
