hi to u all my horn dose not work nor my cruise changed the clock spring still no good help

HI thanks for that but they are ok i have had the car for three weeks and have tried everthing dosnt make sense plus how can a three wire plug do so much.i love the car beats my focus but i am at the end of idears by the way car had just been mot day before i bought it.dave

Was it a new clockspring or second hand?
Have you tested the horns to make sure they work?

HI IT WAS A NEW CLOCK SPRING I HAVE RUN A WIRE FROM BATERY TO HORNS THAT WOKED.STRANGE HOW IT IS CRUISE CONTROL ASWEL
ALLTHOGH THEY USE SAME WIRES AND PLUG.DOSE THE HORN WORK FROM THE SWITCH OR DOSE IT GO TO A CCU OR SOMTHING. BY THE WAY I REALY APPRECIATE THE HELP. DAVE

Ford used a system of using different values of resistors, to indicate which button is pressed. They have used the same system on the three buttons for the fuel computer. It saves on numbers of wires in the looms.

sounds complicated so when you press the horn dose it just click the relay in or dose it go to somthing else first. All i whant is a horn. dave

hi there

you said you've checked the fuse and relay. did you take them out/apart?

have you checked the earth (mounting) for the horns? might be a bit rusty.

Thanks for repling scorpio_man yes i did take fuse and relay out relay was a new one .i put a live from batery to horn terminal which worked fine which should count out the earth .Do you know when horn is pressed if the horns is just earthed through the switch or dose it go to some other gadget first. This is definetly a mind bender.

It goes through the central control box and through the relay....

OK It goes through Fuse 9 and relay 10 see RELAYS (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/images/handbook132.gif) I. All the fuse and relay details are in the handbook near the back ..

The wiring schematics for the HORN (http://www.drich2422.ukfsn.org/SCORPIO_WIRING%20DIAGRAMS/EXTERIOR_ELECTRICS/ALL_EXT_LIGHTS_ETC.pdf) can be found near the bottom of page .

Hi Dave. If this is a new question mate, you're better off making a new thread, more likely to get help that way.

Are these factory fitted sensors or aftermarket? With the aftermarket ones you just stab into the existing wiring.
