Title: Would you believe it? Post by - Mike - on May 23rd, 2008, 8:58pm Can't you tell the Bank Holidays here, the weathers turning rotten again and my wiper linkage decided to break on my way home, on a Friday night as well, typical. :-X This is a new one for me though, expecting that one of the rods had come off I was surprised to see that in actual fact the fault lay with the spline shaft on the linkage. The spline has sheered at the nut. The arm (O/S) also has considerable wear with plenty of filings to prove the point. The only time to my knowledge as to when the arm has ever been removed was when I had the windscreen replaced some time back. So no doubts it's going to take a week to order one in and cost a fortune. In the meantime I'll probably have to, reluctantly, borrow the one off the Granada. |

Looks bad enough to me, those are even 2005 prices. }{ }{ Short Arm - Finis 6 127 673 about £6 Long Arm - Finis 6 127 684 about £6 The entire mechanism is available as a unit - cost £85 The job itself doesn't bother me and as its the whole lot I need including wiper arm(s) at 2008 prices and availability now you know why I'm a little bit miffed. Oh! well the joys of motoring, now where's the nearest petrol station. :D |
