Post by nickjw37 on May 29th, 2008, 8:30pm
Iam having some electrical problems with the car alarm? and the lights staying on the dash broad. When the ignition key is out?? very confused ???   The other day i was on my way to work and a small bit of water run in to the car from the passenage side by the glove box. It happened since it has been raining as i have put the car throw a car wash and it was ok. And i get a little bit of noise from behind the dash broad like something is still running and the lights flikker on and off untill i turn a switch on?? and all the lights go out.

Have you got a battery cover fitted??. If not that's the start of the problem. Second if water is entering the car from the bulkhead behind the auxillary fusebox it is flooding the fusebox and dripping on to the Central Control Module and there is no doubt that is where your problems are coming from. Until you solve those issues it will only get worse. Read THIS (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/battery.htm) page and use the info to make sure the drain holes in the removable panel in front of the battery are clear.

You need to dry out the fusebox first. If you are lucky the CCM will have escaped damage. Make sure the drain holes are clear as this is what causes the water build up in the first place. To access the CCM if you want to check for moisture you need to drop the glovebox by releasing the clips on the sides and letting it fall to the footwell. The most likely cause of your 'faults' lies with the fusebox.
