hi
bought a bob engine and gearbox just for the loom
have fitted the loom to my car but it is still a non starter
will crank but not fire
can anybody give me some advise on what to look at next
original problem was after repairing the old wiring loom i took the car out for a run i got about 2 miles from home put my foot down to accelerate the engine revs picked up but then the engine died after about 5 mins the engine finally restarted but everytime i tried to accelerate the engine cut out managed to tow the car to my sisters to work on it (she has a garage]
ive put the new loom loom in thinking that would solve the problem but it hasnt
any help will be gratefully recieved

hi there

have you tried starting in neutral instead of park?

has the fuel cut off button popped out with towing it?

Hi, which parts of the loom did you replace??

Sounds very similar to Alastairs EDIS module wiring fault.. cuts out and wont restart until it cools down.

hi
replaced the engine/gearbox loom begining to think it could possibly be fuel pump as i cant hear anything energizing when i turn the ignition key
on my old 2.9 12v i could hear the fuel pump.
with this one when you turn the key their is no clunks or other noises
is there a way i can test the fuel pump

I take it you've tried a different fuel pump relay ? :)
