Hi Guys

If the EGR packs up could this cause the cats to fail please.

Hi, The egr valve wont effect the cat as all it does is let exhaust back into the inlet for reburning, the only thing it may do is stick open and choke the engine but if it does that all you have to do is block it off and all will be normal except maybe the managment light been on

When I had my 24v I removed the egr valve and put blanking plates on the manifold etc.
Had no management lights illuminated.

is there any advantage from blanking off egr valve?

Not that I noticed,
The main reason I did it was because the pipe often came loose at the exhaust end.
