Title: Timing belt tensioner on 2.3 16V.

I think the noise is down to the tensioner on the timing belt.  Anyone know how easy it is to change?

Here's your starter for 10...  it covers your model which is a chain not a belt ~ I may be wrong  :-/

The 2.3 is chain driven & although I've never replaced the timing chain or tensioner (yet  ::)), it deffinately doesn't look like a job for the faint hearted...... ;)

First thing to try would be an oil change using a good engine flush like Wynns to make sure all the old oil, sludge & deposits are removed from the engine & then refill with 5W30 semi synthetic or fully synthetic oil......This may quieten the noise down  ;)...... :)
