Hi think may be on its way out the cat... loss of power and some rasping noises under the car esp when its cold pullin away..is this the only thing and does anyone know where we can get a de cat pipe or straight thru if they are gone I might as well go for some more BHP

hi there

you can't get one 'off the peg'. i had to get mine made up.

takes a fair bit of time to do correctly. cost wise, you'd be near the price of a patterned cat.

thought so I remember a thread by was it twin turbo the bloke wth the mad 24v he had a full system i think in stainless?? How much was yours to have made up please?

2.3 ultima its lpg will it pass the mot wth not cats? ta

Interesting question,I just noticed the LPG bit,it would'nt with petrol,hope someone is 'chemical' enough to tell you.

the mot tester still needs to see the cat, even if it passes the emission test, afaik.

When they test it on mot they only test it in petrol mode so the cat would have to comply with regulations.

THE MOT Testers Manual is HERE (http://www.motuk.co.uk/manual/contents.htm) if it helps and Gas powered cars are tested on GAS AFAIK but it must have a cat fitted and working !

ok thanks gents sounds like ill have a yearly headache if I de cat..ummm can i be bothered wth kwik fit a week b4 each mot is due?
