Got a quote from FPUK for front drivebelt at £29.27+vat, this seems expensive for a length of rubber, is there any where else i could try, car is 2.3 16v estate, cheers, phil.

hi there

you could try halfords, etc, but it's a fair old lump of rubber and does an important job. :-/

remember it runs the alternator and water pump. not things i'd like to leave to chance.

I got one from Halfords for about £6 or £8 just to keep in the car as a spare.
Of course it will now never break but if I didn't have a spare you can bet it would...

auntiephil.
Whatever the persuasion a rip off is undesirable ! Could you find a local motor factor,or even one of those Asian motor stores(a different persuasion) ! They are always nearer the real world than a main dealer.

I've had a Halfords one on for a couple of years without problem, but you'll need to make sure it's the right length (I believe there's more than one size).
