any body any idea of tdc marks on crank pully on a cosworth mine has three marks on it any idea

Grandad.  I have to confess all this is beyond me BUT have you noticed that in your link,if you move the cursor on to the pulley below the large black arrow, a 'pop up' says TDC?. It looks as though it is showing some sort of 'peg' in the block aligning with the left hand notch??.

Hiya. That is what I called the pic tdc it's an internet id of mine.

That peg is a static item attached to the block as a reference point to which one turns the engine to a point where there is 'perfect' alignment for tdc [I think for #1 cylinder I'm not sure about this bit] the problem  is that we have three yes three variable notches on our pulley hence the question Why three   :-/

Well done Grandad ! :D.  The other marks remind me of the days when you used a 'strobe' light to adjust the timing ie: the ignition point was so many degrees before TDC and you twisted the distributor to get it right!!.  Only some of us will remember those days! ;D

The first mark would be ?deg before TDC surely so second mark would be TDC and third one, I don't know... for luck maybe?  ???
