Can we use a sealed battery in a 2.9 cossie automatic?

I don't see why not as long as it meets the specification for AMPh and cranking power.

When you say sealed I presume you mean one you are unable to service with water !

I see no reason why not. The most important thing is the capacity and the CCA (Cold cranking amps). Have a read of THIS (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/battery.htm). A lesser capacity will not stand the power required to start these cars, particularly the Cossie. ;)

Thanx guys-I guess then all ok as long as dimensions are same.Know i"ll need one before winter,as cold starting resets my computer.Already got a new alternator.i get round it now by making sure blowers and radio etc off,and even the dash warning lights off before cranking.i see some good deals over at the "car battery shop"

Beware Scorpio batteries when they are going tend to go pfhht very suddenly.  Usually on a Sunday evening about 10 when the RAC tell you about an hour and you've got to be up early for work.
