Title: 24v Turns over will not fire Post by hopper on Aug 2nd, 2008, 4:44pm Hi Ladies & Gents, My 24v Estate has now decided not to start, the engine will turn over but not fire. I've checked the pump reset switch in the boot area, all relevent fuses 16, 17, 31,34,37 and 41 or 42 all ok. Need to charge battery now as have flattened it, so thouht i'd ask for some help from members with any similar experiences. Regards Hopper |

Title: Re: 24v Turns over will not fire Post by Highlander on Aug 2nd, 2008, 11:01pm Why not? If theres no petrol getting through it wont start ;) so it could be an empty tank, fuel pump, blocked pipe, fuel pressure regulator, injectors etc ;) |

Title: Re: 24v Turns over will not fire Post by davem on Aug 2nd, 2008, 11:02pm OK..fair point. I must admit, many years ago my wife phoned me to say she couldn't open her car. She had gone out shopping (Volvo 940 estate) and come back to find the key would not open the door. I drove 5 miles to help her, and it would have worked OK if she had tried to open her own car :-) |

Can you or someone else hear the fuel pump when the key is turned on,it only lasts about a second each time you switch on,then runs after startup. In case you are unaware, the pump relay is green and violet and is in the aux box near the battery. If you pull it out and push it in with the key on,it should click. GOZZ. |
