Hi all,

I own a 96 scorpio 2.9 12v auto. The problem im having is that the auto box does not seem to be changing gear correctly. It sometimes pulls off in first and other times it seems like second also the kick down does not always work, all this seems worse when the box is hot, i have a filter which i am going to fit in the next couple of days and hoping that it will do the trick as the motor has done 140000 and might not of had an oil change in the box. if anyone has any other ideas of what my problem could be i would be very greatful, jaffa.[center]

Have a look at THIS (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/faultfinds.htm) page and scroll down to the Auto Transmission section. :) The level and quality of the fluid are all important and there is a specfic procedure for checking the level. If you need that detail it is on the site.
