Title: wipers.... Post by taliban aka Cheekyboy2 on Oct 10th, 2008, 3:06pm for a while my wipers have only worked on full speed, with mot coming up its time to fix em, popped over to dave's yesterday, the top man has spare switch and wiper motor....we changed the switch...still no joy, then the motor, still didnt work, double checked the relay etc apart from throwing the thing off beachy head anyone got any ideas? is there an unmentioned relay hiding somewhere? ??? ??? ??? |

Title: Re: wipers.... Post by Snoopy on Oct 10th, 2008, 5:17pm When you say " double checked" did you substitute a known working relay for the one you have in the car... If not then suggest you do as it has a resistor in it AFAIK and shown on the wiring diagrams |

Post by taliban aka Cheekyboy2 on Oct 10th, 2008, 6:46pm maybe its cos mines an old diesel but the diagnostic check didnt seem to do anything, followed the instructions, tried the doors etc, no confirmation bleep, i know the door switches work as the interior lights come on.. |

That was the only thing we didn't get to - the connector to the motor gets a 12v supply on both rails alternately when the wiper switch is moved from normal to fast. We took the spare motor apart to see what the other cables do - and it appears they feed the central timer as they come from the rotary switch attached to the motor!? So it would make sense if the CTU had a fault I guess. Dave |
