Title: little problems Post by steve_500uk on Oct 27th, 2008, 4:07pm Hi everyone, This is my first post as I have just bought my first Scorpio Ultima after owning MK2 & Mk3 Granada's. I have just a couple of little gremlins, I have the 2007 radio & cd changer fitted, the problem I have is that it won't play any cds and the will not release the cassette in the boot as if there is no power to it, I have check the obvious connections etc is there an in-line fuse anywhere? Also the heating/ventilation control passenger side is flashing from Lo to 28 all the time, does this mean there is a problem with it somewhere please? Regards Steve |

Title: Re: little problems Post by scorpio_man on Oct 27th, 2008, 4:33pm hi and welcome did it have or had a battery issue? that's what the climate control is moaning about. try resetting it..... http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/acindex.htm re the cd player. check the wiring carefully. there's a (i think) an earth loop just soldiered in. you'll know what i mean when you see it. there is also a small hole that you can put a pin in and eject the cd carrier. hth |

Title: Re: little problems Post by Jonnycab on Oct 30th, 2008, 4:16pm Are there CDs in the changer ?.....if so then it could be that one of them has jammed inside the player :-/ Had this once with a re-writable CD, it went in but wouldn't play & got jammed inside, so I couldn't get the cassette out. Had to remove changer & open it up to remove the CD. It's not done it since & only did it the once, so I'm assuming that the changer doesn't really like re-writable CDs ::)...... :) |

Title: Re: little problems Post by steve_500uk on Oct 30th, 2008, 4:47pm There were cds in there I had to take the unit out and release the carrier via the pin hole, but still nothing no power to the unit at all. |

Title: Re: little problems Post by Simmo on Oct 30th, 2008, 5:18pm Did you check the wiring as Scorpio Man said in the first reply?. If you have a read of THIS article (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/radioupgrade.htm) you will see towards the end of it the problematic earth connection which Andrew was referring to. ;) |
