hi, i bought a new gearbox and fitted it all today and now have 2 problems.
The gear selector says park but the reverse lights are on and when it goes into reverse the lights go out.
the other problem is a bit more serious, when i try to turn the engine over it just clicks once and doesnt start. It's either the starter motor or the battery's not charged enough to turn it, anyone got any ideas?

Sounds like your selector linkage may not be set up right, if its not actually going into park then it wont start, does it try to crank at all?

Sounds like the starter is inhibited

try and move it back and find Neutral then try to start it

It does sound as though the selector is badly adjusted the whole of the gearbox manual is on the main site but the part I think you need to read and follow is HERE (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/manual/autotrans/SelectorAdjust.pdf)
