Title: Re: scorpio cv joint Post by Scorpio_Mike on Nov 10th, 2008, 7:11pm Just checked on http://www.carparts-direct.co.uk/cv_joints_detail.cfm Looks as though Scorpio 2.9 has a different CV joint to the earlier Granada 2.9 Your local FMD should be able to confirm. |

Title: Re: scorpio cv joint Post by python9 on Nov 11th, 2008, 9:25am iam going to change the cv joint on the nearside as its making a cranking noise when i pull off or reverse and go round a corner i have tried 2 places here in aberdeen for a cv and they tell me there is one for all scorpio's so i got one and it was thin bolts so i gave it back went to another place and and i opened the box and low and behold it was the same little bolts so i asked on here and was told that the 2.5 tdi was the same cv joint as the 2.9 so i am looking for a 2.9 cv joint for my 2.5 tdi i ordered 1 yesterday from partco there the only place i have left to try locally iam praying its the right one if not its ford for a rip off £110 or a whole drive shaft from a 2.9 from a breaker |

Title: Re: scorpio cv joint Post by gozz on Nov 11th, 2008, 10:24pm python9. The factors lists do state that the diesel has the smaller bolts, they must be correct, although I had it in my mind that the diesel was the same as the 12valve and 24valve.Is there any possibility that someone has changed the entire back end on yours,is the diff ratio correct ? :-/ GOZZ. |

Just double checked on Microcat, the Diesel and the V6's all use the same larger driveshaft assembly, with the larger M10 bolts, the baby ones use M8 bolts ;) Motor Factors 0 Gozz 1 ;D |
