I have heard that if you remove the heater blower control unit on top of the heater,it's possible to inject something that way, though I've never done it myself.Possibly Simmo will com up with something.

The ultimate 'repair job' is shown HERE (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/fanrepair.htm) but as has been said WD40 sprayed in through the aperture at the top has sometimes worked. The reference to a 'stick' relates to a method of GENTLY rotating the fan in order to work in the WD.  :)

The heater motor is just under the HBC,thus the noise.Excessive icing is caused by failure of the de ice probe in the offside of the evaporator housing, but no connection I would think.

If you go to the link I put up earlier and scroll to the final picture ,click on it to enlarge, you will see a copper/brass spring on the left of the motor. That is what Gost is referring to and it is the only moveable part you can see or access through the HBC aperture. We managed to get Gosts' fan going on Sunday by moving that and spraying it, although it failed BUT he has had another go and it is currently working.

hi guys thanks for all your advice i will try spraying through the hbc apeture over the weekend when its daylight and hopefully it will be ok.   by the way what does this copper spring do excatly.it could possibly that that the coil end of the spring has snapped and its catching on the rotor blade of the fan some times. thanks again guys will keep you posted. geoff/
