hi there

there was/is, afair, a small difference in where 'older' diffs bolts on to. highlander might remember more about it.

BTW, NO scorpio has a LSD diff. best remind your garage that they're working on a scorpio, not a Granada! ;)

You can just swap over the rear diff housing to convert between the two types, and correct should not have LSD.

so  the housing from a 199724v diff can be swapped onto the pre 96 diff

update my cossie  now has the diff fitted and she runs a dream now  ;D  no thumping noise  the inside of the original diff was a real mess  broken teeth off crown wheel and and other gears the damage  was very extensive  cost £75 for the diff and £160 to have it fitted

£160!! I'm in the wrong business!!  ;D

Yep they are all interchangeable, the backplates have either the early single mount or the later double mounts

maybe so for a nissan    but not for a scorpio  exhaust  down from cats  to start   the the prop shaft   and few other things  you wont do a scorpio diff in 10 mins  no way

time taken 4 hours  total   diff oil  diff seals for prop shaf and drive shafts  diff removal and fitting  £160

a fair price is one that you're happy enough with. :)
