Title: Ultima Ignition
Post by Kevbun on Dec 15th, 2008, 11:57am
Greetings Guys

My problem is the guy i got the car off had to smash the steering lock off because the key would not go in i now have to put the original key in the remains of the ign for the secutity bit then use another key or screwdriver in the back of the ign under dash to start it Ford have said a new top half of the column is needed would there be an easy fix to replace the ign  with or without lock or even better to get back to normal hope this makes sense

Thanks guys    Kev

Can we be clear here ?. Has the entire steering lock been smashed OR is it just the switch which the key fits in which has been butchered.?.

If its ONLY the ignition lock barrel ( some pictures of the set up might help, a pictures is worth a 1000 words) If so a NEW one can be made and fitted really easily .

Its the steering lock itself that is broken so i am thinking that maybe a new column is needed ??? if so will all the other bits go in the new column and would i have any problems with the security side of things

Made a donation site been a great help already
