Hi to All and a Very Happy New Year,

The reset button on my trip computor has stopped working and the led has also gone off relating to the reset button, if I replace the LED as per article from web site and get the bulb working again will the reset button also work again? Or are the 2 not linked in which case I need a replacement trip computor?

They are independant but you can try cleaning the terminals

I recently had to clean the computer switch terminals ... Maplin's Switch Cleaner was just the ticket for the job ;)

Careful with the 6 internal springs when taking it apart though - http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/tripswitch.htm

hi there

the switch works of a voltage value difference. you can get it to reset by pressing a combination of 2 of the 3 buttons at the same time.

Hi Gents,

Thanks for the quick response i'll change the 3 led's tmorrow so that they match and clean the contacts as listed, hopefully the reset will work if not i'll try pressing 2 buttons simultaneously and let you know.

Hi Gents,

I stripped the module down and on the circuit board there was a dark patch between the -ve on the 'R' button. I soldered a small piece of wire to the next -ve terminal from the 'S' button. Hey presto the led works again and the R button now resets the computor, the only flaw is that the beep is still not heard when the Reset is pressed. The S and Mode beep when the S or Mode are pressed.
