Ok It's in a galaxy but it's still a 2.3 16v...so...

My mk2 2.3 16v has lost all power above 2000 rpm, it's impossible to accelerate even moderatly quickly.

It will continue to drive if early gearchanges are used.

It reves freely without any load

HELP!!!! the wifes car's MOT runs out on monday which would then leav us without working legal transport!!

Possibly I guess, cars only done 55K though...

getting the VE cable out later to see if theres anything logged.

down to 5 of which 2 are road worthy till monday when the Mondeo MOT expires, which I was sorting the week after!!!!!

Anyway

Update,

There are no codes stored.

For a week or so now it has been making a vibrating noise ( like loose plastics ) under hard acceleration )

That noise seems to be a DEAP induction RASP??? With the AFM, removed and just the inlet elbow pire the rasp is still there.

HELP HELP....

The rasp is from the pipe.

Don't know if the galaxy has the plastic inlet.

Galaxy shares the same inlet as the scorp - several people on here have managed to use the galaxy item as the galaxy doesnt use the thermo housing that cracks on so many scorps - so they're mint :)

Strangely, that rattle sounds like the vehicle is pinking (something many of us havent heard since we last run on a carb) which MAY be related to an airleak creating a very lean mixture. Have you tried the old spraying WD40 trick while shes running rob ?

hi there

could there be an issue with the coilpack. think it's just one on the galaxy. :-/

can you get the lambda sensor out?

you could run it round the block and see if it improves a bit (blocked cat/exhaust). had a blocked rear box on my honda civic. would rev ok, but wouldn't rev under load.
