Title: Re: heated windscreen Post by big_timer on Jan 10th, 2009, 8:21pm yep. there is some drain on the battery if the engine isnt running.i think there is also a timer on the switch that knocks off after 4 mins.at least there was on my granada scorpio.i hope its just a relay away or something like that. |

Title: Re: heated windscreen Post by lesterlad on Jan 10th, 2009, 8:39pm The drain on the battery could be the heated washer jets that work in conjunction with the screen. Is there any whitish discoloration along the top edge of the screen ? If so this is a sign of the laminate starting to break up, therefore possibly breaking the very fine wire element that's embedded in the laminate. |

Title: Re: heated windscreen Post by bizzay1 on Jan 10th, 2009, 9:56pm r18 it is and the relay is black - it's the same as the ignition lock one, and there are 2 fuses numbers 38 & 41 also in the auxilliary fuse box, they should both be 30A |

Title: Re: heated windscreen Post by pinto on Jan 11th, 2009, 5:51pm Another simple check - make sure its plugged in ! My heated screen only worked on the drivers side, something i lived with until whilst running a power feed in for the sub, i noticed a disconnected lucar connector at the base of the screen - plugged it in - hey presto ! a living heated screen ;D |
