I get this motor boating sound effect in drive only on my 2.3 Ultima. drives OK just this dull annoying sound in the back ground.
Any ideas ?

Thanks for all the replies.
The sound is as if a small piece of rag wrapped round the prop shaft.
If you asked anyone in the car can you hear that noise they say what noise, but I know it is there.
does that throw any more light on it?

Could it be the rubber donut on the propshaft starting to break up ? :-/
