Title: Ignition Failure Post by knightrider on Jan 18th, 2009, 12:26pm I was driving along one cold and frosty morning a couple of weeks ago, when suddenly there was a judder and everything stopped. The engine cut out and the instrument panel went blank. After stoping at the roadside (no choice really) I noticed that there was no power to the ignition, instrument panel etc, although there was power to other things such as hazzards and interior lights. Whilst waiting for the AA I started to check the fuse box and battery leads which was continued by the AA man upon arrival to no avail. Once we got the car home I made some enquiries and was told that one possibility was catastrophic ignition switch failure. I have checked this and found there to be no power accross or to either the red or black supply leads to the switch. I have re-checked all fuses (except relays and 60 amp i ii iii which seem visibly ok) and battery leads but all seems in order. It seems that there is no power to the ignition. Any ides anyone ?????
