i think the wee key for taking the cetre of the alloyare different for each set of wheels.thats what the fmd told me.try squirting wd40 or looseall on the screw and using a set of circlip pliers and grip 2 off the holes.its just a thought which worked for me.lucky enough the screw was just nipped up.
good luck

Yep they use different patterns, dont know how many though,

Try the pliers as suggested or a hammer and small chisel,
you can replace them with standard flat head or phillips headed screws of the same thread.

You can make a tool with a spare socket, some expoxy putty and cut-down masonary nails.

Kwikfit the other day successfully took a pair of longpointed pliers and did not even bother to ask me for my special security key... do it every day, they say.

The centre cap tool is the SAME for all the alloy wheels . The Wheel Nut Key is the one that is DIFFERENT .

Not true Dave, I have three different pattern keys for the centre caps that i keep on my key ring, there must be more because sometimes none of mine fit.

Theres not much in it though, only a slight difference in the spacing but enough not to let you use the wrong one
