Title: strange Post by rich1 on Mar 1st, 2009, 10:55pm driving home tonight and the blower kept coming on even tho it was switched off !!! and then about a mile from home every time i touched the breaks i got a horrible grinding noise , breaks worked ok , sounded like something was dragging , had a look when i got home but to dark to see anything , any ideas???? i think i managed to sort the blower , i did the reset thing and it seemed to cure it . but its the grinding thing that is worrying me :( |

Title: Re: strange Post by mijfife on Mar 1st, 2009, 11:26pm Grinding on the brakes usually indicates that a brake pad is down to the metal :( A quick check to find out if it's front or rear is to gently pull the hand brake on (keeping the button depressed) when driving along, if it makes the grinding noise, it's a problem at the rear. Title: Re: strange Post by rich1 on Mar 2nd, 2009, 12:57pm went out this morning , tried jims idea . no grinding took car for a spin , no grindind ??? pulled up outside my house , and got some grinding ??? ??? going to pop it round to my mechanic and let him have a butchers, because im confused as hell ??? |
