Title: Rear bumper removal/refit
Post by SteveO on Mar 16th, 2009, 2:46pm
I've just acquired an unpainted rear bumber for my 2.5TD Estate from Steve's Scorpios. It doesn't look too complicated to remove the old one but if anyone has a clear set of instructions I'd appreciate the guidance they could give me.

Many thanks,

Steve

The details are on the site HERE (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/exttrimmanl.htm). I'm sure those who have done it will be along to offer practical advice re seized bolts etc. A good supply of WD40 seems in order!.  ;)

The 4 TORX headed bolts are normally seized and the recesses 'round out' when you try to undo them and the only way forward is to grind the heads off with an angle grinder.

You MAY be luckier than I was.

Thanks Simmo/Mike, my local garage laughed and said they'd see me after I'd been trying for a couple of hours..... now I may know why.

Fingers crossed.
