Hi Darren.

Many of us have experienced a good Bty going flat for no apparent reason and this has been traced to the glovebox light staying on even though the it is shut up tight.  It took me ages to find this as even in the dark it is hard to see any llight escaping from the glovebox.

Many drivers have disconnected the bulb.  In my own case I keep a book pinched between the door and the light switch plunger,  Result, no more unexplained flat Bty.

Another reason for a flat Bty occurs when the car is left standing for long periods.  This is caused just because the Scorpio's still have electrical activity going on which does eventually drain the Bty.  One of those Bty chargers that charges and maintains the Bty. attached once a week just to bring the Bty up is an excellent way.  Starting the car and letting her run for an hour is not good as the drain on the Bty brought about by just starting a Scorp takes the charging system quite a long time to bring the Bty back to full capacity.

I hope this helps

Mike

Also the boot light, alternator diodes battery saver relay and a host of other things...

check fuse 36  and relay 16 in the battery side fusebox (power saver)

Have a look here about 2/3 the way down

If you are saying that it now won't start then the first thing to do is check that all the leads are back on. There is a thin black cablewhich can be 'lost' in the re-connection as it tends to slip down the side and get overlooked.  ;)
