:) hi all can any one tell me has the scorpio got 4 gears then lockup of 3 gears and lockup and whats revs does she pull at 70mph

hi there

the Scorpio has 1,2,3 and over drive. lock up occurs in 3 and '4' when in E mode and only '4' in S mode.

oh, and at true 70mph (nearly 80mph on the dash), the 2.3 auto is at 3k rpm.

thanks so how do you know if you get lock up sorry for being thick i just cant get my head around it ;D

Lock up should occur at approx 45mph.. If you drive along at steady acceleration ( NOT harsh ) and watch the revs you will see them drop by about 500 when lock up occurs at 45ish.mph... If you accelerate hard it doesn't happen.

thanks for your help i think all is working so just need to sort out o/d light flashing 8)
