Hello just spotted some discolouration and a bubbling water pool by therm housing..is it cracked? can it be sealed? or is it anew one?? Will this mean an immenent breakdown soon as well??

so it's probably the inlet manifold you're talking about. they are known to crack on 2.3 as they are made of plastic.
well the part itself is fairly unfixable so will need changing. you can change it for a 2.0 manifold with only doing minor changes to it and it will give you the best result as it's made of metal...
you may also fix it by cutting off the plastic part of the manifold and screwing in the metal one from the 2.0 but it's pointless in my opinion as changing the whole part seems to be more reasonable and easier...

so stick a 2.0 litre on e str8 in then ? any idea of cost??

yup. you need to adjust some things while doing it [extend the wiring, stuff like that], you'll see what I mean when you get both manifolds side by side. It's an easy job and you'll have a pretty unbreakable manifold :)

Have no idea what the costs could be though... I'm sure someone is braking a 2.0 and will sell it for a few quid...

I'm not so sure it's a matter of a straight swap :-/ but someone more knowledgable will be along shortly, I'm sure.

I also believe the cost of a 2.3 manifold is quite high, even for a good s/h one

it is a pretty straight swap m8. only few days ago we were fighting with it. there are several ways of doing it but it is a pretty easy job in the end.

2.0 manifolds should be cheaper and more common.
