???hi everyone i have a 96 2.3 scorpio ultima.

Just a quick question.
I've replaced the climate control display unit, the climate control condenser unit, refilled the gas and a new air con compressor(last year) but my mechanic says the vents are pumping out only hot air. he says the air con ECU unit is not connecting to his scanner so he can't reset the the ECU unit. any ideas? do i need a new ECU unit?

:)hi i've done a manual reset on the system. i get a fault code reading of 00 which equates to no faults. the system is still pumping out hot air only. any other suggestions please? ???

I would have the control panel out again and check that the ribbon cable is connected properly . Other wise I thinks its trial and error method .... UNLESS someone on here knows ( which I am quite sure they do !)

Check the HBC unit as well its all well documented on the main site pages . try HERE (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/acmanual.htm) for starters .

in the end my mechanic set up a seperate manual on/off switch for the air-conditioning. so if i need the aircon on press the button on and if not press it off.! not an ideal solution having replaced the climate control front display unit and the cc condenser, but at least it works :)

Have you tried replacing the SATC module behind climate control panel ? :)
