hi all  have a little problem with my 2.3 scorp after a engine rebuild the car will start fine and ticks over well but after a minute or so it cuts out and needs to have the fuel shut off reset then it starts fine again  any ideas could the shut off be faulty or wiring   any thoughts appreciated

The switch works by inertia,therefore if you are not bumping into anything or hammering near to it I would think it might be faulty.

Also check the wiring loom by the offside boot hinge. If the hinge comes into contact with the loom the wires can get damaged. You MAY have to undo some of the outer wrapping to actually see any damage.  ;)

Not sure if the problem I had with “fuel” will help or not but here goes: - My car would for no apparent reason fail to start. It always `pointed to the fuel pump area`. Long story short it was the connector on top of the fuel pump (sender?). One of the 4 terminals was burnt out sometimes it would make contact and sometimes not which in turn caused the car not to start. Very frustrating. Hope this helps.

thanks for all advice  waglet  you were spot on  sorted conectors and all is well  so can now commence putting the car back together ;D
