Title: Door lock failure Post by Malcolm73 on Oct 7th, 2009, 11:24am My car is a 24v Ultima. I always enter my car from the driver’s door but recently used the nearside door. Lack of use may have caused a problem. From the nearside the car can be locked using any of my three keys, including the red key. On locking there is a spring which partially returns the key. On turning the key clockwise to unlock there is no spring return to the key which feels as if no mechanical interaction has been made and the door fails to open. I have tried a shot of WD 40 into the keyhole with no success. Any ideas? Malcolm73 |

Title: Re: Door lock failure Post by scorpio_man on Oct 7th, 2009, 12:07pm hi there i'd just try more WD40 in it. all down to lack of use. remember to use a rag to catch any spills. i should add that graphite oil is the correct oil for locks, but WD40 is easier to find. hth |
