What is the best way to get rid of an air lock in the heater ?

Hi Norman, Have you recently drained the radiator or removed the water from the system and refilled? When drained and you refill the system with water, turn on the heater to high speed which will allow the water to travel throughout the complete system without creating an airlock. Keep on high speed until system is full.  Lee

park it facing uphill, definitely an airlock and not a blocked matrix?

The blower speed has NO effect on the water flow through the matrix which is continuous

The 12v does not commonly airlock,at least not the heater. After refilling the cooling system I run the engine at a fast idle with the filler cap off, that usually does it,but be ready to put the cap on to avoid overflow. After the engine has cooled down(in the morning)you will need to top it up.
