You dont say which fusebox it is, but its simply a matter of following the loom, releasing cable ties and disconnecting the plugs, you may have to remove trim to gain access to it. |

Title: Re: WIRING HARNESS Post by Highlander on Feb 17th, 2010, 4:12pm I think Niceman rewired his original loom Glyn, they are/were available new up until recently but i'm pretty sure they are VERY expensive, well into the hundreds of pounds. |

Title: Re: WIRING HARNESS Post by pete from Hull on Feb 19th, 2010, 2:06pm If it's any of the fuse boxes, the feeds to the bottom are all built into the main harness and the replace it would be a mammoth task just thinking about it as those pictures show. I carefully took one out of my 2 Lt 16v and have still got it in the shed, it's just sat there in a bag where I dropped it cos it's so Darn heavy. I would admire anyone who removes and fits a replacement, but if you do then I would highly recommend taking Photo's of every stage.... Good luck. ;) Pete |

Title: Re: WIRING HARNESS Post by geoff_bateman on Feb 23rd, 2010, 9:33pm Local Ford dealer told me that there are 4 harnesses in the vehicle and that all were listed as being no longer available from Ford. I'd asked because the engine harness on my V6 12V was in a very poor condition due to insulation degradation and I was after a replacement. In the end I had to strip it down and repair/replace as necessary to get it sorted. I also rerouted it all to keep it further away from the cylinder head to try and reduce any thermal degradation in future. |

Title: Re: WIRING HARNESS Post by Glyn on Mar 1st, 2010, 2:47pm Just an update on the engine wiring harness - the local Ford supplier says that they have been withdrawn and last known price for the 24v was £1500 + vat !! Glyn |
