Hi, Has anybody any idea or have managed to sort the display fading and going off then returning and so on, anybody ever had the radio apart?

Les, a regular subject. Remedies vary from putting unit in a warm airing cupboard to putting it in the freezer!!. There are reports of both methods working. Another is to remove the 'button' unit and gently clean the contacts with an appropriate cleaner. ???

ok thanks Simmo, will give it a go, I'm thinking warm airing cupboard first as its only just started with the cold and damp.

just been out and was parked for a while waiting for the other half with the engine running heater on full blast down at feet, guess what it came back to life

I had a look at a stripped down shell, there arent too many places it could come through, really just the grommets for wiring looms and steering column, unless the foam seal is away on the blower unit or fusebox?
