Hey everyone,

I have recently purchased a 1995 12v Scorpio V6. However, recently the LED light behind the 's' button near to the ignition cowling went out and doesn't appear to be functioning correctly as the car's trip computer is now displaying in Kilometers instead of MPH, and I am unable to change it back.

Any ideas as to what the problem might be? Thanks - Shayne

Check this (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/tripswitch.htm) out.

The easiest is to take it apart and give the button contact points inside a decent isopropanol spraying, they collect dirt. As goes with the led, you need a green 3mm 12V native led, observe polarity. These are semi rare, but obtainable from those electronics hobby shops for pennies. Or you just get a replacement unit, should not be hard to find one.

Try pressing the S and the R buttons at the same time......
