Hi fitted a auto dim mirror to my 97 2.3 ghia X but alas cant find the wiring loom can i splice into the sun roof loom and which wire is what ?

Hello the auto dip mirror should have a connector. You will have to remove the sunroof and interior light cover. Take the interior light cover off undo the 2 screws and I think the manual say's move the cover up towards the roof. but in fact it's move the cover down towards the windscreen. Thanks for the reply I have already taken the light fitting and sun roof cover off no loom to connect to also have looked down the left A pillar and in the passenger air bag hole still no loom So I can only assume the wiring is not there.

easier to just clip it into the light loom.

ok it's not how ford did it, but works ok.

you just need a power and earth to get it to work.

Do you have a electric sunroof or maual sunroof.........

Hi i have an electric sun roof wondered if i can pick up supply from here what is the third cable for on the mirror loom?

Hello, If wanted to pick up a supply from the sun roof loom, Connect to the black ( ground ) and the purple/black which is a switched 12v supply. Thats from the loom going into the roof, not sure what the third wire is, but it could be to work the light sensitive resistor that faces forward to determine when it's day or night

I think the extra wire may be to do with turning it off in reverse, wiring diagram here:
