Title: 24v Cossi
Post by redjescap on Feb 24th, 2010, 11:27pm
Hi Folks, Had this Scorpio about 2weeks and it drives well except for one fault. When we purchased the car it needed a battery( the correct one). We checked the car   through  and it had a small hole at the back end of the nearside cat. The problem is when it starts after sitting all night,  put it into drive in the morning, it doesn't accelerate just chugs and won't up the revs for about 500 yards. It seems to clear itself and then starts and runs perfectly the rest of the day.  Could this have anything to do with the hole in the cat? Cheers for any help.

its possible one of the cats is blocked,

does its have any signs of missfire? the cossies run quite happily on 5 cylinders!

the cossies are a bit lazy till they warm up

Funnily enough Matt, those are the same symptoms that our green saloon are suffering from. Redjescap Matt & I are having a fiddle with our project car this weekend. If we find a cure for our car it is likley that yours may be suffering the same problem. Sit tight m8 & i will post our findings... P.S. dont suppose you have some damp  around your plugs or coil do you. A quick squirt with WD40 wouldnt hurt  ;)
