Title: Saves a Cossie from the scrappy
Post by essexstu on Feb 28th, 2010, 4:47pm
Hi all, thought id do a post to not only say hi but say about the cossie i just saved from the scrappy yard

N-reg 1996 Scorpio Ultima 24v...
£100 and 6 months tax for £60

mate who bought it before me paid £300, then taxed it and realised it was going to cost him lots to fix it so offered it to me knowing my history with them etc etc... any how

Autobox problem....      but speedo flickering so usual culprit there - new sensor £60 on order

Tailgate light always saying open, traced to the wiring on the osr boot hinge, all wires had broken in half on that side, or hanging on for dear life

ABS fault with TCS light on, was all the time until i cleaned the pair of multiplug's soaked in PAS fluid under the PAS reservoir...  now only comes on when moving (once the speedo cuts in intermitantly that is), pair of rear abs sensors on their way for £10 ;)

glove box not shutting... screw loose

Still got to look at randomly cruise control light which is very random, but will do that once the speedo is properly working

Gana hopefully have her fully upto spec for all within £300 fingers crossed!

And people scrap cars for that? Mine would have been scrapped a long time ago with a treshold like that.

Good job Stu!
