Title: 2.3 Ghia inlet manifold
Post by emptypockets on Mar 6th, 2010, 12:01pm
Hi Again.

I am watching a rather nice 97 2.3 Ghia which is for sale.
Two questions.
May need the inlet manifold changed. How big and expensive a job is this?
What do I not get with the Ghia versus Ultima re; spec?

Cheers.

The specification details of all models are shown Here (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/specifications.htm).
The 2.3 has a plastic manifold which is prone to leakage/problems. Many members have changed them and some have fitted the 2.0ltr with modifications. I'm sure someone with actual experience of this will answer in more detail.  :)

Many thanks Simmo.

There appears to be plenty much spec on the 97 model Ghia to keep me happy.

Cheers.

MT Pockets.
As Simmo says the 2.0lt manifold is a good conversion because it is made of aluminium rather than the poor plastic of the 2.3,however there are certain modifications to be made, though not too complex, people on here have done it to good effect.
As long as you Ghia has aircon, which to me is a necessity these days, nothing else really matters much, things like 12 spoke alloys could be fitted later if this has not already been done.
