my new scorpio (2.0 8v) is misfiring very badly. Hasnt happened to me with one before, although those were 2.9 and 2.5td . Anybody got any suggestions of what to try first?

off to shoppin tomorrow morning it is then. will try that first. Guess i shoul dpick up some service parts too since it's gone a while without any attention

I have had my spark plugs in since I bought the car 3 years ago. It is used every day. what is the average life of plugs?

Are NGK's the best to use or are there others?

If standard copper tip about that with some attention. Platinum and iridium alternatives last way longer 40k to 60k+.

I used Champion platinum RC8PYP in my cossie, they were quite reasonably priced too. Compatibility was derived from charts, there was never any problem with poor running. It's actually the same for 2.0, believe it or not (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/diy.htm where RC10PYC is wrong for the cossie).
