Title: Looking for the loom position map 24v
Post by Cosray on Mar 18th, 2010, 3:41pm
Hi all,

somewhere somewhere on this wonderful website sits a position drawing of the looms on a 24v.

So NOT the actual wiring inside of a loom but a MAP of how they run through the car from back to front and in the engine bay. I remember there are some 8 looms pictured on that drawing.

I have searched for [loom] and found many articles but none comprisisng of that sketch.

CAn anyone please help me find that page?

Looking forward,
Ray

Is THIS (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/12vlooms.htm) what you are after?. ;)

Thank you Simmo alas, no...

It is a sketchy drawing in black and white lines, some shaded, some white. I think the vehicle is outlined by  simple straight lines with sharp edges and the looms look like tubes, some crossing each other.

In it the routing of the looms is roughly discernible, though not in great detail.

I think they are numbered or at least their functions are mentioned: engine loom, rear loom? Not sure here.

It could be 'hidden' somewhere in the tech articles on page http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/index2.htm

I remember having noticed on an unexpected page...

HTH,
Looking forward,
Ray

tlundkvi  thank you!.

Are these looms for the Scorpio Cosworth 95-98?

if so I may detect the right loom by closely looking at the connectors.

Even more important, is this a supplier/vendor that has LHD looms?

Beware, there are 10 versions of each loom, you have to match age, engine, LHD and possibly something more. They can at ford based on your VIN pinpoint what finis/tech. number the donor loom has to have in order to fit.

You know I would have thought so. However, the FORD techies advised me that the only way to be certain to dig out the loom and find this white Ford label with a 95XXXX partnumber on it.

BTW those who know Scorpios have all retired but one... and my car is in MY garage.

These are the pics of the damaged loom: http://picasaweb.google.nl/babpic123/Aegon?authkey=Gv1sRgCNmu4LaW36q0hAE&feat=directlink

This is a russian site, unfortunately they only sell to eastern europe. But a good source to browse for finis codes. I think "2" is the engine loom. There was no price announced for this which probably means it's discontinued. You can try fordpartsuk or your local dealer what they say. If you find a tech. number on your loom, even better. these look like 95GB-123456-XY.

Eureka. I found the document I was looking for on my good old TIS 0009: Sep 2000 CD-ROM under Wiring Harness Overview.

It does not state the 95GP numbers but it shows the various looms.

As the imagetext on this CD-ROM cannot be enlarged I had to print and scan the image on highresoltion and divide them up for better viewing.

Complete page on TIS:  http://picasaweb.google.nl/lh/photo/UP4gjijSGFjk7FuV-zlsyA?authkey=Gv1sRgCJvy9oHatPT1_AE&feat=directlink

Harnesses only:  http://picasaweb.google.nl/lh/photo/gqjlqszKSQSaM7UZcUcMNg?authkey=Gv1sRgCJvy9oHatPT1_AE&feat=directlink

Text/legend only:  http://picasaweb.google.nl/lh/photo/CFBfD3H3AAYyUlFL_Qc7Uw?authkey=Gv1sRgCJvy9oHatPT1_AE&feat=directlink

After clicking the link click on "Download" to view the image fullscreen, print it and/or save it to your disk.

Thanks all for your efforts.

No sweat Snoopy: I managed.
Problem with the TIS is the legend onthat page is in very small print and will NOT be enlarged with the enlarge button.

Harnesses:  http://lh4.ggpht.com/_-3jJs8IT1gA/S6OMCRM38KI/AAAAAAABIWA/eY0lXv-ofPI/2010-03-19%2003%3B28%3B56%20%20Canon%20print%2Bscan%20Harnesses%20only.jpg

Legend:  http://lh6.ggpht.com/_-3jJs8IT1gA/S6OMNr8YwzI/AAAAAAABIWI/pCCQat_myvA/2010-03-19%2003%3B28%3B56%20%20Canon%20print%2Bscan%20text%20only.jpg

I had to do a number of tricks to get it blown up AND make it readable.
So enjoy my efforts  ;D
