Title: rear passenger window?
Post by flyingdogguitar on Mar 23rd, 2010, 4:39pm
Hi,
I am the proud owner of a 2.9 Ultima estate. I have a problem with my rear offside passenger window.
Basically, sometimes when I get into the car, close the drivers door and turn the ignition on. The window sometimes, but not always opens, either going partially or fully down. I'm thinking, that perhaps there might be a faulty switch in the drivers door panel? As, if you tap the drivers switch area, fairly firmly. The window will close. If I was thinking if I could perhaps the switch in the drivers door. This may cure the problem?
If anyone has experienced similar things, or could give me some advice on how to remove the switch.

           Many thanks

                   Dave

You could try and swap the switch over with another one, and see if it happens to the other window, then at least you'll know if it's the switch........ and welcome to the site..........  :)

The whole plate in which the switches sit is just a push fit into the trim. GENTLY lever the panel upwards. Try and 'feel' for the tags that hold it in place.  ;). Each switch has a connector leading to it which is removable by pressing the tags which secure it in place.
THIS photo (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/images/doorwindswitch.JPG) should help.
